Latest Sport: I told you we were entertaining

What a week it has been for us at Latest Sport; not only have we been to the Albion and Sussex Cricket but we had the Latest TV open day!

Where to begin … well, I guess the best place is the successful trial of our Saturday morning show filmed at the AMEX Stadium. Using the very nice and modern Seven Stars Sports Bar, we practiced our hearts away so that we are ready to entertain you!

Expect banter, and a few laughs. One of our philosophies is that you won’t need to be a sports fan to enjoy our shows, we want to appeal to a wide audience that can enjoy Latest Sport as much as Deal or No Deal (that’s still good, right?).

Our guest on the day was Jennie. Truth be told, Jennie isn’t into sport, so it was impressive to see that she pulled off the facade of being Tiddlywinks World Champion! Apparently, her trick was to use sheep bone from her native Wales.

Now on to the open day at the Latest Music Bar, an incredible day with an overwhelming amount of people and support. Everyone had a go in front of the camera to wish us well, and tell us how amazing we are. All on green screen to show off our virtual sets!

We met some great people on the day who showed a real interest in Latest TV and our Latest Sport programmes, including a lot of non-sport fans … see, I told you we were entertaining.

More recently we were at the County Cricket ground in Hove to film interviews, after the Sussex Sharks lost to Glamorgan in the One Day Cup. Luke Wright was one of our interviewees and was charming as always, so thank you to Luke. He reads this column regularly, I’m sure.

We were treated to a cracking little barbecue courtesy of the cricket club, too. The chef even held back some of his scrumptious pulled pork for us to sample. We do try to take full advantage when free food is on offer; it’s not like we need to keep up a sporty image anyway.

So, the channel starts in a few days … that’s right, A FEW DAYS! So make sure to retune your Freeview box, and tune into channel 8 or Virgin 159 from 6pm on 28 August to witness the start of something special.
