Steve Cropper & The Animals

The Animals (albeit touring with one original member) turned out all the hits (‘House Of The Rising Son’, ‘We Got To Get Out Of This Place’) with professionalism and energy that belied some of the members’ years. They certainly went up another level whilst backing the legend axe carrier Steve Cropper who closed the show with his set. Cropper, the epitome of cool, took the audience on a journey of song-writing through his STAX, Blues Brothers and Booker T days. Delivered in an unassuming, laconic and relaxed drawl not unlike his playing style; I hung on his every word/note. Breathtakingly effortless, an undeniable legend.
