Charity Chuckle Christmas Cracker

A raucous and fabulous affair from start to finish! With a careful balance that kept the evening’s benefiting charities Survivors Network and Rise front and centre throughout, whilst also serving up a brilliant array of comic talent, Charity Chuckle had a lot to be proud of. Hosted by cabaret marvel Miss Behave, who captivated us with everything from sword-swallowing to head butting a watermelon to pieces (really!) – all with a cheeky wink – the line-up was top notch. First up was Evelyn Mok, whose slow deliberate delivery was compellingly funny. Then character act Spencer Jones as ‘The Herbert’ – difficult to quantify but a bit of a masterclass in physical comedy and left field delights. The next opener was musical comic Kate Lucas, whose wicked turn of phrase peppered her songs liberally with guilty laughs. Zoe Lyons closed the second third, with a good old wallop of seasonal and locally-referenced material – cementing her as the high echelon comic that she is. Finally, sketch group Pappy’s ended the evening with their marvellous energy and pure fun, leaving us giddy and drunk on laughter. A Cracker where every prize was the treat your wished for – what a great way to give to charity!
