Hair-raising
Trevor Sorbie MBE will be in town next month to show his on-going support for the new Macmillan Horizon Cancer Support Centre Appeal in Brighton, when his Brighton salon hosts a Fashion Show at The Thistle Hotel this 26 February. The event will see Trevor Sorbie models joined by Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialists as they take to the stage, sporting fashion labels including French Connection, Jigsaw and Coast, with makeup by Shu Uemura. Brightonian stylist and personal shopper Jane Busby will be helping to produce the show.

The event aims to provide an evening of fashion, fun and fundraising and will also feature the delectable Dolly Rocket. The monies raised will be donated to the Macmillan Horizon Cancer Support Centre being built in Brighton. The centre is set to open in Brighton in September 2015 and is expertly designed with input from people affected by cancer.

Sarah Coxhill, Sussex Fundraising Manager for Macmillan says; “We’re thrilled to have Trevor Sorbie supporting us. This event is a great opportunity to raise the profile of what services we’re providing locally as well as keeping the Macmillan Horizon Centre build in the forefront of people’s minds as we continue to raise funds to complete it. It’s fantastic when we can link local businesses with local services like our nurses and provide entertainment from it – what a great bunch of sports! We have £500K left to raise to complete this build. Please help Trevor Sorbie fundraise for us, we couldn’t do it without the local support we receive. This Trevor Sorbie salon shows a great example of what can be achieved with staff engagement, passion and initiative.”

Tickets are £10 (redeemable against any service at Trevor Sorbie Brighton). Call 01273 220007, visit the Nile Street salon, or www.justgiving.com/Trevorsorbie

SPOTTED!

The very lovely gold-medal winning duo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean. Looking fresh as a daisy, we spotted the Olympic champions and stars of Dancing On Ice having lunch together. The pair, who filmed the last series of the popular ITV skating show, will be back on our screens this year in new series Ice Rink On The Estate. ITV have signed T & D up for a new three part factual series that will see them return to their home city of Nottingham to work with residents of an inner city estate, to see if they can make a difference to their lives by teaching them a new skill. Heroes in their hometown, the pair already have a housing estate named after them; if they have success with this project, another estate could be theirs!

Bad behaviour
katie
We hear rumours that local glamour queen, Katie Price, could be about to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house after reportedly receiving a ‘six-figure sum’ to join the show.

The 2015 CBB is already courting controversy after the booting out of former Coronation Street actor Ken Morley, who was told to leave after using a racist term in a discussion about Frank Bruno. Ken, 71, has since apologised ‘unreservedly’ for behaviour on ITV’s Loose Women. Just three days into the 2015 series, producers also axed American actor Jeremy for exposing another contestant’s breast, leaving her in a fit of tears. The former Baywatch actor was thrown out of the famous Elstree compound following the incident in which he exposed his fellow housemate by pulling open her dressing gown. Let’s hope Katie can raise the tone!
