What a joy to see a show for the fifth time and still find it as entertaining as the first. The musical reworking of the Python’s Holy Grail is a masterpiece of comedic musical theatre. The humour is true to the original, the songs wonderfully spoof Broadway genres and the attention to detail, where the show is playing and timely references, keep it fresh. You seldom see a show where the cast seem to be having as much fun as the audience (without resenting it) and this time round the cast of young performers is as strong as ever. Joe Pasquale makes the role of King Arthur his very own, a saucy performance that makes you forget that his singing voice is a little weak. Once again Todd Carty steals the show with a comedy performance that displays a fine sense of pathos and superb comedy timing, he can sing too, and his vocal in I’m All Alone is not only funny but rather moving.
