Brighton and Hove Buses: Get on board

Brighton & Hove buses share their top bus route destinations … This week: Eastbourne

You may not realise it but there are all sorts of interesting and unusual places to visit on the Brighton & Hove bus network – stretching out to Eastbourne, the South Downs, and Steyning to name but a few.

There’s no shortage of variety to what anyone can do in Eastbourne. Lining the seafront alone is access to water sport for the adventurous, children’s theme parks for the family and the Napoleonic fortress turned museum for the historically curious, just to name a few attractions.

Once you’ve enjoyed a scenic journey by bus, why not travel along the seafront on the Dotto Train to see the Victorian boardwalk, the 1930’s bandstand or the Sovereign Harbour, three long standing staples of the seaside town? Or perhaps even take a luxurious boat trip and enjoy the fresh sea air.
Eastbourne isn’t all about its iconic seafront, however – further into the town lies the award winning Eastbourne Towner Gallery. Inside you’ll find international contemporary art exhibitions, outreach art projects and Towner’s own collection. And of course, there’s a gift shop to take a piece of leading South East culture with you.

And be sure not to miss out on over seven beautiful parks to explore, including the vibrant floral displays of the Carpet Gardens and the secluded, wooded amphitheatre of the Italian Gardens.
Check out visiteastbourne.com for all the attractions and events available in the town – we’ve only just scratched the surface of what Eastbourne has to offer!
