Hacienda Classical

This was no mere refined orchestral reworking of classic club anthems – this was a rave. The original Hacienda DJs provided the beats but the music was led by the percussionists and dynamic keyboard player that flanked them. Every house piano intro was met with a roar and the live saxes on 808 State’s ‘Pacific State’ elevated it to a higher plateau. Special guests Peter Hook performed ‘Blue Monday’ and Rowena from Happy Mondays added her powerful Loleatta Holloway style vocals to the already excellent 6 strong choir. The arrangements were spot on as was the 40 piece orchestra for this classy trip down memory lane.
