Chaplin: The Charlie Chaplin Story

If you thought you knew Charlie Chaplin, ‘Chaplin’ showed a very different side to the jovial public persona. Using very strong acting, live music and emotional musical numbers, we saw a complicated family set up – from the escapism of music hall, to the workhouse before Hollywood glamour took over his life.

Rachel Wood shone as his mother Hannah, while Brian Hodgson embraced Chaplin with such intricate detail and flair.The highlight though was Steven Arnold who played many roles from Chaplin’s brother Sydney, to the vibrant keystone cop director Mack Sennett.

This was worth seeing. Do not miss it.
