Down with the kids

IMG_1814I’m back, yes the kids have done their stuff, and a very good job they did too. But do I agree with their verdicts? Well I have to say that I do.

Charlie went to Terre á Terre and that happens to be one of my favourite places to eat, not only in Brighton but pretty much anywhere. The constantly developing style of their kitchen is a testament to the culinary genius of owners Amanda and Phil and the team out front are quite brilliant too.

Curry Leaf Cafe has rapidly become a go to choice for me and my friends and Chef Kanthi brings to the table an authentic taste of India with a few of his own clever twists and all for very sensible prices. Lani tucked in and loved her meal, hardly surprising.

Over at Boho Gelato Harry had a real treat, eating great gelato that worked well with his dairy intolerance, a great place if you have the same issue. For me I can eat the lot and find it hard to pass without buying a cone.

Kate went to Bardsley’s and despite not being a great fish lover had a good time. Well of course she did, Bardsley’s is like a second home to me, 30 years a customer I consider Roy, Muriel and Neil to be family.

Izzy went off to Breeze Brasserie and fell in love with the tasty and generous food that Bruce and his team serve up. I was there recently too and you will find my glowing review on our website. It’s relaxed, stylish and fun, and the portions are great, ideal for a growing boy like me.

Lily went to Chaula’s and loved the spicy dishes that she tried. I love the way youngsters encounter and embrace spicy food in a way that I could not have done at their age, lucky them! And I have been a fan of Chaula and her spicy food for many years now.

I love the Chilli Pickle Cafe too, how lucky are we to have so many great Indian eateries in the city. Johnny went along and loved his meal, I happen to know that he is a big fan of their takeaway service, The Chilli Pickle Canteen too.

When it comes to family dining few do it as well as Sue Addis and her team at Donatello, and Marlon agrees with me here having thoroughly enjoyed his time there. For years this Brighton favourite has been serving good and well priced food to locals and visitors alike.

Charlie went to Fish + Liquor for a classic fish supper and enjoyed both the food and the seafront’s views and atmosphere. I have been along too and found great fish in super-cripsy batter and my secret vice curry sauce – yum!

Stanley went to La Choza and loved it. It was La Choza that changed me into a Mexican food lover – need I say more?

Katja and Nuala went to Moksha and as well as enjoying the food seem to have flirted with their waiter. I go there because the home made cakes are superb.

Finally Monty went to V.I.P. And gave it 100/10. I agree, a favourite haunt of mine too.

You can read all of their reviews online at thelatest.co.uk and also look back over my recent reviews. Enjoy!
