Kiss me Quickstep

It may have a cor-blimey title but this sharp and witty play really catches the passions, pressures and pain of Blackpool’s ballroom scene with panache and a whole lot of fun. Seven very talented actors portray a convincing cross-section of the sequins and smiles brigade, some aspiring, others trapped in their own or other people’s ambitions. There’s romance of all sorts, skulduggery and pride, both good and bad. When they get round to dancing they are just as impressive, supported by an enthusiastic and energetic ensemble. This quality show manages to pack quite a punch and lift the spirits too.
