Parents of radicalised children offered preventative programme from Home Office

Parents in Brighton and Hove are being offered help and advice to prevent their children being targeted and radicalised by terrorist groups.

The Home Office picked the city, which has seen at least four youngsters travel to fight in the Middle East in recent years, for a pilot programme being run by the NSPCC.

The programme launched today and will see posters go up in 19 different GP surgeries across the city.

In the past Brighton has been strongly linked with radicalisation and terrorism.

Mhairi Beveridge spoke to the mother of one of the four boys who recently left Brighton to fight in Syria.
