Donald trump Hove town hall protest planned

Campaigners are planning to meet outside of Brighton Town hall tonight to protest Donald Trump’s ban on people from muslim countries entering the US.

The group will be gathering between 6pm to 8pm.

The executive order to temporarily ban citizens from mainly Muslim countries like Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the country. Those from Syria have been banned indefinitely in a ploy to stop “radical Islamic terrorists”.

Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States

Controversy arose as British citizens who hold dual nationality with one of the aforementioned countries, like multiple gold medal winning olympian Mo Farah, were set to be banned – although the White House has ensured that the vast amount of British citizens will be exempted from Donald Trump’s immigration ban.

A petition demanding an invitation to meet the Queen be rescinded has now gained over a million signatures, meaning it’s got many more signatures than the 100,000 parliamentary debate threshold.

More people from Brighton and Hove have signed the petition then anywhere else in the country.
