Funny Women

Whether or not Funny Women can still claim to be relevant is debatable, as this isn’t comedy aimed at women; it is comedy delivered by women, which is just comedy. The evening is like a taster session with six comedians doing 10 minutes each. It’s sink or swim based on their own merits, but none overstayed their welcome. Some will delight, like Anna Morris in her guise as Georgina, the stuck-up, social-climbing bride from hell. Imagine ‘The Good Life’s’ Margot Leadbetter on her wedding day crossed with a praying mantis. This is character comedy at its best.
