Paul Carrack

Pitch perfect Paul Carrack oozed effortless cool on Friday night. The show was a mixed bag of funky, uplifting hits, easy listening tracks and soulful ballads. Paul played a lot from new album Soul Shadows and his last song ‘The Living Years’ was genuinely moving. The jazzy numbers were infectiously energetic. Solos from supremely talented saxophonist, Paul Beighton and tight rhythm sections from his seven-piece band showcased some serious talent. Paul’s encore of 80’s track ‘Over My Shoulder’, from his days in Mike and The Mechanics, had revellers singing and dancing by their seats. Meanwhile diehard fans flocked to the front to rock out. Rising star Sarah Munro was support act for this truly enjoyable evening.
