Abandoned Circus Street Building Will Not go to Homeless

Earlier in the week we brought you the story of squatters taking up resident at an abandoned building in Circus Street. And now the courts have ruled that the building is to be demolished and used by the University as new accommodation for their students. A statement read:

“The building in question is currently vacant as it is being prepared for demolition as part of enabling works for the imminent redevelopment of the Circus Street site which includes much-needed affordable housing and student accommodation.”

We heard from homeless rights campaigner, John Hadman, who believes there is no reason why homeless people in the city should not be given access to the building…
