I was sitting on the beach the other day, watching some teenagers ‘bury‘ their friend in the pebbles. They were falling about laughing and it reminded me of when I was young, finishing college and without a care in the world. They began taking photos of the hilarious image of ‘Beth‘ with only her face poking out of the beach. On a good day, in a good mood, I might watch the young and think ‘Aww, they were the days, bless them.‘ On a bad day, I might think ‘Twits.‘

Mad as ever, I planned a trip to see the parents in Somerset on a weekend that turned out to be the hottest so far and also coincided with Glastonbury, just down the road from them. The combination of heat and heavy traffic in an elderly Nissan was crazy but parents cannot be let down when they hit the final quarter of their century so off we went.
