Avama is the new business in town with the know how on getting the best sliding doors
It’s funny how things change in the world of home trends. Patio doors were all the rage, but now they seem somewhat clumsy and out of date, when compared with folding sliding doors. With a wealth of different design options, materials and colours to choose from, there’s bound to be a door system to suit your home – irrespective of your style or space.
Avama is the Brighton-based folding doors company, which has just launched. Founded by the same people behind successful shutter companies Shutterly Fabulous and The California Company, Avama is set out to be become the company of choice in the South East for folding sliding doors.
Director Murray Clark said: “People thought we were mad to start another company, especially in the current economic climate, but for us the timing is perfect. Our shutter division is growing and we have a fantastic team of staff who are exceptionally knowledgeable about the technical side of shutters, specifically giving customers accurate measuring and design advice. Folding doors share the same basic fundamentals, therefore incorporating doors into our existing infrastructure enabled us to launch with low overheads.”
Avama (which means ‘open’ in Estonian for those of you wondering!) sells a wide range of folding doors. Doors are made from aluminium or wood and can be painted or stained to match your requirements. An assortment of different installation options can be chosen, with all design options talked through by a member of the Avama team.
“Folding doors are far more than just a practical solution to shut out the elements. We are more than happy to get involved at the design stage to point out factors you may not have considered. Most people prefer a flush-track system, which means the floor level inside your home and in the garden outside, is completely flat, with no threshold to step over. However, if we’re involved early on in the build project we can talk over the options with you, your contractors and surveyors, to make sure we work together to get the perfect installation.”
Folding doors allow you to concertina the glass sections, opening up the entire space. Avama can incorporate a single opening door within your configuration to give you easy access in and out of your garden (as we all know that the British summer is not that good to allow you to open your doors all the time!)
If all that wasn’t enough to tempt you to consider these delicious doors, then a rarity these days is that the doors are made right here in the UK. This enables Avama to fit most doors within a period of five to six weeks meaning it’s the perfect time to get your skates on to have these just in time for the start of what (we hope!) will be a fabulous summer!
