Hamptons Brighton and Hove defy market forces

June 2008: contrary to the ‘doom and gloom‘ being reported each month in the housing market, there are pockets of ‘good news’. Hamptons Brighton and Hove has reported excellent sales figures for May with some outstanding individual achievements from the team.

The most impressive result for the month was the sale of a property in Medina Terrace, Hove. The property was only on the market for six weeks before an offer was forthcoming and eight days after the offer was accepted, contracts were exchanged.

This would be considered an excellent result in any market place. All viewers of the property came from London, emphasising now more than ever, that an agent with a strong presence in the capital and a large network of offices filtering buyers through, is essential.

Karron Eubank, the seller of Medina Terrace commented “Having been on the market for quite a while with another local agent, I was delighted to be working with Andrea Harding and an agency that were as enthusiastic and excited about my unique house as I am. I worked with Andrea and local photographer Alastair Nicholls to produce a new brochure in time for the property’s launch at Hamptons Property Exhibition at their head office in Grosvenor Square, London.

This went ahead in May and subsequently Hamptons were contacted by the couple who eventually bought the house. The whole process was seamless, extremely professional and lasted only six weeks, sealed with an eight-day exchange! The team at Hamptons, lead by Paul Taggart, are exceptional and backed up by a superb network that puts them a long way ahead of any competition. I would wholeheartedly recommend that you use the Hamptons team to sell your property.“

As if that wasn’t enough, the office also sold four properties valued over £1million, which were previously being marketed by another agent. All were sold within three weeks of instructing Hamptons and two are already about to exchange contracts.

“Despite the constant barrage of bad news in the press, the reality is that there is still a market for houses with realistic guide prices. The right product, at the right price and in the right place will sell”, comments Paul Taggart, Associate Director at Hamptons Brighton and Hove.
