Have been to the Engineerium today what a great place to visit. I will return when it opens, as i wonder through the halls looking at the pumps and other equipment, I was left me in awe.
what a great day out.
thanks Mike Holland to you and your staff for saving this great place. ric

Mike Holland. I helped organize a two day reunion in 2008, for the kids of the old Mile Oak estate. You can follow up with the mileoakrevisited.co.uk web page.
There are two empty derelict shops next to the Mile Oak pub, on Mile Oak Road, with a decent set back, and what looks like upstairs accomodation. I would like to open a cafe, with two rooms upstairs as Bed and Breakfast for visitors, the other rooms would be accomodation for me, including office. There is no B&B within miles for Mile Oak and no cafe. The cafe would be called Mile Oak Revisited, with photos of the old Mile Oak and residents adorning the walls.
THere is no meeting place in Mile Oak, but the pub, this cafe could be used for a meeting place for young mum and kids one afternoon a week, a senior meal day....... so many ideas flood my mind. BUT of course one needs someone with the finances to obtain the building, permits etc.
I was born in Mile Oak, and presently live in the the USA. I want to return to my birth place, but not to vegetate, but to work and bring something to the community. Good luck with the building in HOve. Sydney Australia has something similar which draws large numbers, specifically children.
THank you for reading this.........
