Kay Town
Andrew Kay finally moves, despite the change in the weather and the pressure of Christmas and gloves
Too darn hot! In typical British fashion, summer arrived too late, too late for school kids to enjoy the sun, too late for those who booked summer breaks to enjoy the relaxing warmth of a summer holiday.
It arrived just in time to coincide with my move, which meant the physical process of lifting and carrying was amplified to an uncomfortable level. That was actually made bearable by the more than brilliant service of Julian of www.he-vanandman.co.uk who made the move possible and took a lot of the pressure off, especially when it cam to lifting my more precious items.
“I love this business, It’s 29º outside and inside I’m writing about Christmas and gloves”
Amusingly enough, the hot weather also coincided with the arrival on my desk of a pair of winter gloves. I love this business, It’s 29ºC outside and inside I’m writing about Christmas and gloves.
I do like the gloves; they’re black knitted ones but the tip of each index finger and thumb is speckled grey. And there lies the magic because these are no ordinary gloves – these are Isotoner Smart Touch gloves.
And what is that, you may well ask. Well, they are cleverly designed so that you can use your smart phone without removing them. How clever is that?
It’s very clever and they work! I popped them on, despite the soaring temperatures, and gave them a try. I will admit that I am not the most dexterous touch screen manipulator. My texts are invariably full of crazy mistakes due to my ineptitude. So much so that predictive texting is not an option. But I was able to dial and search with ease while wearing them.
I would love to say that I can’t wait to use my Smart Touch gloves for real but given that this will mean cold weather I am prepared to forego that pleasure for as long as possible.
