Building work to replace rundown pub with innovative eco-friendly family homes to be completed in a year
Developers will begin demolishing the old Meridian Pub in Lewes after plans to replace it with a row of contemporary townhouses were given the go-ahead.
Award-winning independent developer, Creative Developments, intends to push ahead with the construction of five family homes as soon as possible. Business partners Lewis Watts and Julie Turner expressed their delight that the proposals to knock down the old pub and build homes had been approved. They plan to start work in August and have it finished by August 2011.
“We are very excited to have been given the go-ahead on turning the Meridian Pub site into viable and attractive family homes,” Mr Watts said. “A huge amount of research goes into our developments to ensure they are of the highest quality, innovative and in keeping with the area. “We firmly believe these houses will substantially add to the community.”
