The Bardo are a hard hitting, high energy, sleazy sexy rock n roll band based out of Brighton, England. Songwriters Paul Dawson (vocals/guitar) and Morgan Hempsted (bass, vocals) met in October 2006 when they both moved to Brighton from Manchester England and Vancouver Canada respectively. They found they shared a love for 70’s punk rock and 1950’s rock n roll resulting in their powerful and provocative sound. The Bardo mixes driving bass, explosive guitars and deep seductive vocals over solid hefty drum rhythms to create their trademark sound. In 2008 Brighton born BIMM graduate Ben Priest was recruited to play drums.
Both Dawson and Hempsted have had indie and major label record and publishing deals and have toured North America and Europe. This allowed them to sharpen their live performance and songwriting skills to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
In 2008 their single In The City was released on Global Warming Records which led to Duncan Management getting the band into Metropolis Studios in London with producer Drew Griffiths (Morrissey, Metallica, and Iron Maiden).
The Bardo are currently finishing their debut album Back On The Sick which is due for release in Sept 2009 on Deathless Recordings.
