Willowen
The Kooks when writing ‘Do You Want To Go To The Seaside’ may well have had Bournemouth in mind. The beach and sea in the little coastal town deeply influences the sounds that emanate from the bedrooms and venues of a town who’s recent exports include Art Brut, Air Traffic and new Coda signings Saturday Sun. Willowen are a quirky indie folk trio from Bournemouth with a harmony-fuelled, surf vibe and a folky twist, drawing comparisons with the exciting sounds of Noah and The Whale and Seth Lakeman, with the soft touch of Jack Johnson.

Action for Happiness
Action for Happiness is a movement for positive social change. We’re bringing together people from all walks of life who want to play a part in creating a happier society for everyone. For fifty years we’ve aimed relentlessly at higher incomes. But despite being much wealthier, we’re no happier than we were five decades ago. At the same time we’ve seen an increase in wider social issues, including a worrying rise in anxiety and depression in young people. It’s time for a positive change in what we mean by progress.

Mark Mulcahy
Announces new album Dear Mark J Mulcahy I Love You on Fire Records in June 2013
Fire Records are proud to announce the signing of celebrated American singer-songwriter Mark Mulcahy for his eagerly anticipated forthcoming album, entitled Dear Mark J Mulcahy I Love You. This will be his first studio release since 2005′s critically acclaimed In Pursuit Of Your Happiness. Armed with his trusty Epiphone and his wonderfully emotive vocals, Mark Mulcahy recorded the new album in Northampton, Massachusetts with Henning Ohlenbusch. The album was mixed by Grammy-winning producer Paul Q. Kolderie, who has made some of the most important records of the past two decades by artists including Radiohead, The Pixies, Hole, Morphine, Uncle Tupelo, Warren Zevon and Dinosaur Jr. The record was mastered by Mark’s longtime collaborator Myles Mangino.
Mark is the former singer of Miracle Legion. That band lasted a long time and did great things. His next band was Polaris. They wrote the music for tv show ‘The Adventures of Pete & Pete’. Polaris never really existed outside the television but there is an album. Mark’s solo career began with Fathering – an album that received loads of praise and featured the song Hey Self Defeater, featured in Nick Hornby’s 31 Songs. From there followed albums ‘Smilesunset’ and ‘In Pursuit Of Your Happiness’. Some eps’ and singles in there as well. So many tours later he stopped everything and stayed home. Many of his long-time fans banded together to record an album of his songs in tribute to Mark’s wife.
