Joymask
+ guests
Brass-heavy 7-piece funk band celebrate their new album ‘Hooligan’.
Joymask is a 7-piece funk band that performs brass-heavy grooves to people in hats. Operating mostly in the terrestrial realm, it is a collective of musicians from Brighton, London and darker, more mysterious places (Hampshire). This gig will be a celebration of the band’s recent digital release ‘Hooligan’, an album that gestures frantically at Tower of Power and Steely Dan, thrusts occasionally at The Meters and winks inappropriately at more modern elements like Mr Scruff and various hip hop.

Minor Sounds is the work of a Croatian singer/songwriter Mirna Stanich based in Brighton. The songs on her first album called “Super Komputer” have been recorded with a friend producer Martin Zietek who made a great contribution to the record taking it a step further.

Ellen and The Echo
+ Lu’Ami
Based in Brighton, Ellen & The Echo was formed by Irish singer/songwriter Ellen Cosgrove. Ellen was born and raised in Dublin, the youngest of nine children, she has been singing since she was a little girl. Growing up, she was influenced mainly by the jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Shirley Bassey. Listening to these women shaped her vocal in…tonation and phrasing thus forming a unique and powerful contralto voice. Taking part in musical theatre throughout her teenage years, she developed further as a performer and loved the magic that was created on stage. In her early twenties, she was trained vocally by the publicly acclaimed Irish singer Honor Heffernan.
