ART5 Gallery is hosting an exclhttp://thelatest.co.uk/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=64186&TB_iframe=1usive weekend exhibition dedicated to showcasing the avant-garde ‘nail art’ work of award-winning artist David Foster, on 12–13 April. A former architect, David began his artistic journey by producing ink on paper images, using a stippling technique to create light and shadow with dots of ink. This method evolved into replacing the ink with nails, creating his signature ‘nail art’ style. He produces intricately detailed portraits and still-life scenes in this engaging and highly tactile medium.

“I have always been fascinated with how little information the brain needs to interpret a picture and I love the simplicity of a picture made up from just dots,” says David. David’s unique work is highly acclaimed, winning first place in the Warrington Contemporary Art Competition in 2012. He has featured in national and international publications such as The Guardian, and popular Italian magazine La Repubblica. He has also been featured on ABC’S Good Morning America, and Sky Sport’s Champions League Weekly, in which he created a portrait of Didier Drogba on the show, especially commissioned for the delighted footballer.

Visit Art5 at 5 Bartholomews, Brighton, 12–13 April, and see how David’s work transforms ordinary hardware into extraordinary art! art5gallery.com
