Brighton Centre for Contemporary Arts

The University of Brighton will open the city’s first new contemporary public arts space in 20 years this October with a dynamic inaugural programme bringing together works from a renowned European artist and an experimental UK arts collective. Based across two galleries and a 270-seat theatre in the University of Brighton’s Grand Parade building, Brighton CCA will place the resources of the University, including its research and archives, at the disposal of artists and make these accessible to its students and the wider public through a combination of commissioned work, public events and practice-based research projects. Mark Walker takes a look.
