Mono/Poly

It must be both a blessing and a curse to be signed to Brainfeeder. The greater exposure can sometimes come at the cost of being in the shadows to the beat-maker and label-head Flying Lotus. Despite this, Californian producer Mono/Poly showed no signs of needing something to prove at his first show in Brighton. Constantly moving and dancing throughout, his set was stacked with tracks full of heavy bass, wonky beats and enough bleeps to make Mary Whitehouse proud. Perhaps the only downside, part of a wider problem in Brighton, is that this small (and often static) gig could have benefited from the atmosphere and revelry that a club night can bring.
