Women’s Quilt Fringe

Following the Labour Party Women’s Conference that was held on Saturday, a fringe event was held at Brighton Oasis Project to display The Women’s Quilt.

The Women’s Quilt is a project to commemorate the 598 women who were killed by their partners or ex-partners between 2009-2015 in England and Wales. The project was founded by Labour & Cooperative Councillor Roxanne Ellis. Roxanne Ellis – Founder

Attendees were able to view the quilt and discuss how textiles projects help projects help women find their political voice.

Squares were sewn by members across the country, including local councillor for Preston Park ward, Julie Cattell.
