Yoga at Brighton Buddhist Centre

Yoga: tried it yet? The Brighton Buddhist Centre is teaching us how to care for our wellbeing, inside and out

Yoga is a traditional spiritual discipline, practised with an emphasis on awareness of the body and the breath cultivated through practising various postures. The benefits of Yoga include increased awareness, mental clarity, emotional positivity, vitality, physical and mental flexibility, and overall wellbeing. Likewise, the awareness created during Yoga and meditation practices spreads out and influences the rest of our lives; our relationships, our work, family and friendships.

The Brighton Buddhist Centre offers classes in several Yoga styles including Hatha, Iyengar and Vajrasati. Their Yoga teachers are experienced, qualified and committed to making Yoga accessible for all people from beginner to experienced.

The centre has been offering Yoga, meditation and Buddhism since 1974. In today’s classes, they provide all Yoga equipment, and simply ask that visitors wear clothing which allows them to move freely.

The Brighton Buddhist Centre runs a Beginners’ Course in September, and drop-in classes Monday to Friday: Lunchtimes 1-2.15pm, Evenings 6-7.15pm, Friday morning Yoga and Meditation class 10-11.30am, and a Saturday morning class 9.45-11am.

Drop-in classes are £8/£6, and there is a loyalty card scheme – come to 9 classes and get the 10th free. Brighton Buddhist Centre, 17 Tichborne St, Brighton, BN1 1UR, 01273 772090
