Greta Scacchi’s gone doo-dah, while Denise Van Outen plus colourful beau lunch with unsilly Zilli

Denise van OutenEaster weekend has always been a good time for celeb spotting in Brighton and despite the snow, this year was no different.

My first spot was The Player star Greta Scacchi. The gorgeous Ditchling-based actress was in chocolate heaven in Choccywoccydoohdah on Duke Street, hunting among the lavish Easter offerings for a birthday cake. She bought a huge chocolate fudge confection complete with firework for the top.

Celebcity: Duffy’s pulled, Ken Livingstone’s election ready and the X Factor jamboree rolls into town

Duffy

She may be number one in the charts – both single and album, but hot new Welsh singer Duffy still has her feet firmly on the ground. She was spotted before her Brighton gig last Monday at the Komedia lugging her own suitcase in the North Laine. She didn’t even beg for ‘Mercy‘.

Nicki has X-cellent taste

I popped along to the Brighton Centre and caught the full spectacle that is X Factor Live. My four–year–old son has a rather big obsession with Rhyddian and Leon – so how could a mother deny him a ticket? Pretty much all of the singers said on stage how much they loved our city – especially ex-dinner lady Nicki, who I think we might see a bit more of around our streets.

» Jordan hitting a high

Jordan‘s jetting off, Zoe‘s supporting the doggies right to roam and top chef Aldo‘s in town

011_LS363_celebcity-4_1.jpgOur very own pin-up girl Jordan is really hitting a high – this time in her own private jet. The Brighton born 29-year-old is apparently in the process of buying a Hawker 900 for £4.5million. The model also plans to have the whole thing painted pink with a matching pink interior. Jordan – who now has a home in Cyprus with hubby Peter Andre – has decided to splash out on the jet when she realised that flights for the couple, their three children and nannies would cost more than £150,000 this year.

To recoup some of the huge price, Katie will hire out the plane. She could even fly it and she is already learning how to fly a helicopter. Her fly-on-the-wall show Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter starts on 27 March at 9pm on ITV2.

» Brighton Fringe Festival returns

Bizarre purple inflatables return to the city. Celebcity with Jo Brooks

011_LB362_celebcity_1.jpgThings are starting to hot up as more and more announcements are made for this year’s Fringe Festival. Also back – bigger, better and by popular demand – is the Udderbelly, which will be grazing again on Steine Gardens.

It has the added bonus of another purple inflatable tent this year (called the Udder Place), which, I am told, will house stand-up, amongst other things. So far, I can reveal that Jim Bowen will be appearing – of course telling tales of his famous gameshow Bullseye. Also performing will be comics Ed Byrne, Jenny Eclair and Brighton’s very own Tina C.

Latest TV

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
