Last week I attended the Grierson British Documentary Awards held at the British Film Institute on the Southbank. The awards are named after filmmaker John Grierson and celebrates the very best in documentary filmmaking and all its genres. Joe comes out to play at Revenge
X-Factor winner and number one artist, Joe McElderry will be performing an exclusive gig at Brighton’s renowned gay club, Revenge, on 25 November. Joe, whose new album Wide Awake was released last week, reached number seven in the iTunes download chart. He will be performing songs from the new album and old favourites including his debut single, ‘The Climb’, which reached Number One, a week after it was released (though he famously missed out on the Christmas top spot to Rage Against The Machine following a Facebook campaign!)

Gary Numan attends Halloween party, Lisa Marie Presley vists zoo, and Alan Carr joins Sussex Beacon

Gary’s the ideal guest for gothic jewellers

Halloween arrived early last Thursday as central Brighton jeweller Jeremy Hoye launched his brand new spooky charms at his Lanes store. Guests were served spooky cocktails and bubbling wine as they perused the tiny silver witches’ hats, cats and pumpkins, which will be a fabulous addition to any Halloween costume.

Special guest of the night, though, had to be ’80s electro legend Gary Numan. Gary attended with his wife (ex-super fan) Gemma, and the couple picked up their custom made wedding rings, specially designed by Jeremy to replace one that Gazza lost! The paparazzi were out in force as it was rumoured that Preston was due to make a late appearance – no doubt to add to his already burgeoning collection of necklaces from the store. The Ultimate BB housemate, however, arrived rather late when the event had finished, but was seen drinking with guests at an impromptu after party at the Black Lion.

Latest TV

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
