» Dani’s Diary: Dumped

Dani reprises her loathing of errant Mr Whippys and also abandoned mattresses

If you go down to the woods today you’ll be in for a big surprise, a burnt out motorbike, bin bags picked apart by seagulls and if you’re lucky – a mattress. Why is it that any open space in Brighton quickly becomes a dumping ground?
Do we really care that little? It’s a sad and sorry thing to have to hop, skip and jump over varying objects when all you wanted was a walk. Read the rest of this article »

» Dani’s diary: Custard democracy

Dani thinks direct action is the way to get your point across and loves air freshener adverts

You would have had to have been on another planet to have missed the green custard being thrown in the face of Lord Mandelson. About a week or so after it happened I found myself in a situation where the only source of entertainment I had was a talk radio show. The subject matter being discussed was Leila Deen and her custard throwing antics.
The people who phoned in all had valid opinions and all made sense. But the one caller that really made my ears prick up was a woman. Read the rest of this article »

» Dani’s diary: The other woman

Dani says mistresses should be honest, and wonders why people are ringing 999?

Sarah J Symonds is probably best known for being the mistress of Jeffrey Archer. She has now written a book, Pillow Talk, a handbook for mistresses, in which she basically points out that the mistress is in no way in the wrong for being part of the affair and if anyone is at fault it is the wife.

Latest TV

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk

AOH Special: It’s Festival time in Brighton & Hove, which means the Artists Open Houses have opened their doors for another year! Maps of all the trails can be picked up across the city. We love nothing better than browsing and buying arts and crafts, and there is so much going on throughout May that we’ve made it easier by bringing the Artists Open Houses to you! We have 11 special programmes, featuring artists in their own houses. So here’s your chance to go ‘through the keyhole’ so to speak as we visit the artists in their own environment.
