Mark Brailsford says a fond farewell to a hero

So Glenn Murray, the Albion’s best striker, is off to the enemy? The fans who recall the very tasty matches against Crystal Palace in the past will be livid at the thought of our star striker signing for “the scum”, as our Croydon neighbours are often called. Glenn Murray may not be aware of the intense antipathy felt by fans of both clubs towards each other and may get a surprise if and when he plays against The Albion at The Amex. Fans will be quick to remind him that one club appears to be on the up and one appears to be well… Has he gone stark raving mad? It brings to mind the question of which of the two is the bigger club?

Andy Winter praises the two prolific openers

I will be keeping an eye on this for the summer and reporting back intermittently on the comings and goings as they happen.

But there we were, at the top of the league for most of the season. If you would have said that Glenn Murray would finish the season with 21 goals, I might have scoffed. If you had said that over 16,000 season tickets would have been sold for The Amex, that Gary Hart would come on against Huddersfield and look like he could play another 13 years, I would have choked on my Withdean chips. But all this has come to pass.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
