Philharmonia Orchestra

An ‘all star’ line-up of musicians delivered an outstanding experience, Brighton Dome Concert Hall being an ideal backdrop for the craft and precision of the Philharmonia Orchestra. Watching Conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy command and control his orchestra was compelling to say the least.

The deep ghostly sounds of the ‘Men of Brighton Festival Chorus’ gave tingles down the spin while 23-year-old Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii stunned the audience with what can be only described as one of the most captivating piano performances ever staged in Brighton.

Simply amazing!

Thanks for this mini-review. I had the pleasure of seeing this performance in London last night (May 24). Conductor Ashkenazy and the Philharmonia were magnificent and deserve all the praises.
But to me, Nobuyuki Tsujii was magic; I would pay good money to see that performance and his big smile again!
