LoveLightYoga Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Open Community-Driven Rocket Yoga Centre in Brighton
LoveLightYoga is crowdfunding to open the UK’s first Rocket-based Yoga Centre – changing the way yoga is done in Brighton by bringing the yoga community ethos of San Francisco, CA, to our city.
The yoga centre’s main attraction will be the internationally acclaimed full Rocket system, as developed by Larry Schultz, private yoga instructor to the Grateful Dead, in San Francisco in the early ‘90s. Rocket Yoga is a playful and creative yoga practice suitable for all levels and, though increasingly popular, not available in the UK in its full expression at this time. The new studio will also offer several weekly donation-based community yoga classes to all ages from 3 to 99 – making quality yoga available to everyone. International guest teachers will feature regularly, making it a destination for yoga practitioners everywhere.
The campaign’s aim is to reach out to the community with the aim of raising a minimum of £10,000 in order to open a new and unique kind of yoga studio, not yet seen in Brighton, between April and June 2017. Crowdfunding allows supporters to contribute directly to bringing inspiring, unique projects to life in their community, offering grass-roots involvement in their development and success by pledging an amount of their choice. In return, they can select a number of products and services to receive in the form of ‘rewards’ – such as pre-bought memberships, workshops and more. In addition, supporters get to follow the project’s process every step of the way! LoveLightYoga also invites supporters and funders to reach out directly to find out how else they can help to bring the project to life through investments, loans or volunteering.
LoveLightYoga, set-up by Lena Younes and Richy Batten, has been providing unique and high quality yoga instruction in Brighton since March 2016. Lena and Richy have a background in Philosophy, History and Theatre, and several years’ experience living and travelling in different countries across Europe. They were introduced to the unique Rocket Yoga system during their training in Florence, Italy, and gathered many ideas throughout their travels, which they are now bringing together in their vision of LoveLightYoga Brighton.
