Alice Marshall – Blood
They **** you up, your ex boyfriends – to paraphrase Larkin – or they form the kick off point for a marvellous character-fuelled multimedia comedy show. Full of smart silliness, creative inventiveness and costume changes, ‘Blood’ never hits a loose beat. No warming up necessary here as Marshall’s force of character – as whichever character she is – plays with language and physicality to tease out the comedy broadly and with aplomb. Highlights include her appropriation of David Attenborough’s commentary on bird mating movements, ‘helpful’ friends in footage, and her optimistic finale. A Fringe highlight.
