A Berlin Kabaret

Sphinx Theatre brought a different class to the fringe this year. They brought with them ‘A Berlin Kabaret’, which highlighted songs from the 1920s and more, including composers such as Bertolt Brecht, Irving Berlin and Hans Ensler.

The four singers and pianist brought home to the audience a world full of hope and strife, whilst creating a current undertone of current political themes. Strong vocals and mesmerising performances captured everyone’s attention, made us think and more importantly, gave us an insight into the mindset of the composers and their message.

‘Those who don’t learn from history are condemned to repeat it’.
