Brighton graffiti suspect caught red-handed, say police

A teenager from Brighton has been charged with spraying graffiti after Sussex Police said that they caught him red-handed.

Thomas McCatty, 19, of Compton Avenue, in the Seven Dials area of Brighton, has been charged with criminal damage following his arrest on Saturday 3 March.

Sussex Police said that McCatty had been seen by officers as he was spraying an underpass wall next to the A270 Lewes Road in Brighton along with two other people.

All three suspects ran off but McCatty was detained near to the scene and arrested.

He has been bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 26 April.
