The Chuckle Brothers
Children’s comedy has never been viewed in high regard, almost seen as performed by third rate comedians who couldn’t hack the adult comedy circuit. True, this wasn’t Lenny Bruce/Richard Pryor standard stuff but The Chuckle Brothers did precisely what they were charged to do… entertain the children and to be fair some of the adults too. For me the show hung too loosely on a washy theme with disparate skits and jokes that went on for ages with no satisfactory conclusion. A poorly ‘Brother’ didn’t help and so lines were dispersed to others to compensate, as a consequence the show looked undercooked. Kids will love it though!
