Film: Brave 3D (PG)
Director: Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman
Ever wondered if the boys who go to see Disney films feel left out?
Just checking, because it always seems to be about empowered princesses doing it for themselves these days when maybe the odd prince finding his way might not go amiss for one summer holiday.
Anyway, Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald)is a feisty redheaded Scot,
an expert archer and daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor (Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson). Unsurprising then that she’s also rather headstrong and determined to make her own way in life, breaking with tradition and unwittingly releasing chaos into the kingdom. Best go ask a witch for help then – no! D’oh! Hey presto, here’s a curse and even more strife. However will she restore order and emerge older and wiser by the end? We’ll just have to watch and hope for the best. Also featuring the voices of Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane, Kevin McKidd and Craig Ferguson.
Showing at Odeon and Cineworld now in 2D and 3D.
