Brighton teenager jailed for 15 years for rape
A teenager from Woodingdean has been jailed for 15 years for raping a 16-year-old girl three times.
Christopher Hills, 19, of Downland Road, Woodingdean, also found guilty of sexually assaulting his victim twice.
He was sentenced on Friday (25 January) by Judge Paul Tain who described the offences as “awful and horrendous offences on a vulnerable victim who you raped on multiple occasions”.
Hills was found guilty on Monday 26 November last year after a six-day trial at Brighton Crown Court.
The offences took place between Thursday 1 September 2011 and Thursday 21 June last year.
Detective Constable Paul Hitchcock, from the Brighton and Hove Anti-Victimisation Unit, said: “This was an extremely serious course of conduct against the same young victim.”
“The victim has shown great courage throughout the prosecution process and has expressed her relief at the long sentence as she can now begin to rebuild her life.”
