Comedy’s biggest hugger comes to town with a brand new show – Shooting From The Lip

A hug from Patrick Monahan is not to be underestimated. Nor should it overshadow the strength of his comedy and stage likeability. A consummate storyteller who draws you in with each telling, it’s no wonder he seems to leave each gig with a room full of brand new best friends.

Many people first saw Patrick when he came to prominence as a contestant and eventual winner on ITV1’s comedy contest Show Me The Funny. However even before then he was popping up involved in entertaining big and little kids on TV. These days you’ll most likely catch him on various panel shows and stand-up showcases on the box, as well as vigorously touring as a regular club act.

With his first full length DVD released in 2011, this is the new show, and if past performances are anything to go by, he’ll likely be mining such topics as his Iranian-Irish origins, how a funny thing happened to him on the way to the venue, and making you laugh hysterically at that thing that nobody else has noticed happening in the corner of Komedia. A truly lovely and funny guy.
