The Great Escape is here!

The Great Escape returns to Brighton with a siege of cutting-edge music acts taking to venues all over the city. This has been the kick-start of festival season since its inception in 2006 and this instalment should be no different to previous years as the latest international and homegrown talent absorb themselves in the Brighton Fringe atmosphere. Headliners include the class act that is Billy Bragg who has just released a new album, as well as the fabulous Bastille who love to show off their wacky ways. With 16,000 fans expected this year, the aura of the occasion is sure to be immense.

Known for a great exposure for upcoming bands, the music industry relishes the opportunity to watch unknown entities of the music world. 300 bands play over 30 venues over three short days so there is plenty of choice. Catching the eye this year is Canadian alternative group Your Favourite Enemies. They will be sure to dazzle with their ‘brooding noise rock’ at Concorde 2.

Also keep an eye out for the much anticipated Soul Sister Dance Revolution, all the way from the Netherlands. These guys deliver an intense sound of alternative rock and are predicted to take the world by storm. Don’t miss them when they appear at Queens Hotel and Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar. Also representing Canada is Ain’t No Love, a techno hip-hop group following in the footsteps of N-Dubz with their dynamic delivery. This lively group will win the hearts of all who see them and are certainly a must for everyone’s list of must sees.

The Festival runs 16-18 May and might just change the world music scene, until next year when we experience the pinnacle of music entertainment once more.
