Bette Bourne – It Goes With the Shoes, with Q&A by Jeremy Jeff and Mark Ravenhill

Topped and tailed with footage of Bourne receiving an honorary fellowship from the University of London’s Central School of Speech & Drama and framed by live excerpts from Bourne and Ravenhill’s collaborative theatrical performance ‘A Life in Three Acts’, the film offers a chronological telling of the drag performer, actor and gay activist’s life. It features a wealth of archive footage and contemporary interviews with other members of the drag commune where Bourne lived in Notting Hill, his troupe Bloolips and the GLF. Jeff’s film is a warm, fascinating and entertaining testament to a life of creativity and resistance.
