The Merry Wives Of Windsor
Falstaff’s abject humiliation at the end of Henry V clearly wasn’t to Elizabeth I’s liking as (so legend decrees) she instructed Shakespeare to have him return but this time in a comedy. His demise on this turnout is a loving public embarrassment… much more to the Queens liking! Rainbow Theatre’s second outdoor production this season provided (as ever) a terrific ensemble; great energy and some laugh-out-loud moments (with some of the Bard’s more waspish text). A few tech issues, maybe first night nerves or a tad undercooked in places. But these kinks will be ironed out so make an effort, get out and enjoy it!
