Three Brighton and Hove pools offer free swimming for youngsters

Three council-owned pools in Brighton and Hove are offering free swimming for children aged 16 and under.

The three pools are the Prince Regent and St Luke’s in Brighton and the King Alfred in Hove.

Youngsters need to be registered to qualify for the scheme with registration forms being accepted until Monday 31 March next year.

A parent or guardian has to go along to one of the pools with the completed form and proof of the child’s age in the form of an original birth certificate or passport.

The child has to be present because their photograph will be taken for their free pass.

Children under eight years old must be supervised by a parent or adult of 18 or over with a maximum ratio of two children to one adult.

The adults supervising must accompany the children in the water.

All three pools are run by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Brighton and Hove City Council.

The free swimming sessions are funded jointly by the council and by the Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).
