Brighton teenager bottled in fight near Royal Pavilion

A teenager from Brighton suffered serious cuts after being attacked with a bottle during a fight outside the Royal Pavilion.

Sussex Police said that officers were called to the Pavilion Gardens on Saturday (21 September) after reports of a fight having broken out.

Detective Constable Elizabeth Simpson said: “This was a nasty assault where a 19-year-old local man was attacked around 2.15am by two men and suffered serious cuts after being struck on the head with a bottle.

“The attack took place in the Pavilion Gardens, right next to New Road to the south east of the cafe.”

An 18-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested at Brighton Station early on Saturday morning (21 September).

He was questioned and later bailed to return on Sunday 22 December.
