David O’Doherty Is Going To Try And Fix Everything

This show, to a sold out Corn Exchange, aptly demonstrated what makes O’Doherty such a special talent. I’m not sure if what he performed can really be called songs; more an avalanche of words with a chord of emphasis from his trusty child’s keyboard to denote the punchline. However this didn’t matter one jot as ‘tunes’ such as the bitter ‘Life’ hit their mark again and again. The ditties were backed up by strong askew observations and proper one-liners which David was charmingly over-proud of. A potent cocktail of optimistic pessimism and 80s era electric piano; a proper treat.
