Brighton to Lewes railway line closed after man hit by train in Moulsecoomb
A railway line has been closed after a person was struck by a train in Moulsecoomb.
Emergency services are still dealing with the incident which took place at about 6.30pm tonight near the station off Lewes Road, Brighton.
Passengers are reporting that they are stuck on the train as 999 crews deal with the incident.
Some are describing it as a fatal although police are yet to comment.
Currently all services on the coastal line between Brighton and Lewes are cancelled.
A statement on the National Rail website said: “A person has been hit by a train at Moulsecoomb, causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains between Brighton and Lewes.
“Passengers can use Brighton and Hove on routes 12, 25, 28 and 29.”
