Alice in Wonderland

Armed only with their trademark box of props and puppets, Box Tale Soup followed last year’s successful Northanger Abbey with a whimsical family version of Alice in Wonderland. The performance itself was wonderful, with fantastic acting, spot-on timing and clever use of the simple set and puppets to make a cast of amusing characters come alive, but distilling the key elements of the story – a confusing one at the best of times – into a play of under an hour made the narrative a little hard to follow and the ending quite abrupt.
